Today we held a wildly-successful benefit dinner to support the construction of the residents’ quarters in the new center. Fun was had by all! Here is a fun “time-lapse video” of the event. Special shout-out to Terminus 330 for hosting the space for the event…

Also, at the benefit event, Cindy Parker, our Administrative Director, showed a compilation video from demolition to date.

Next up… Plumbing, vents and electrical wiring will be installed in the walls, and then the drywall will go up. The ceiling will be installed in the Gampa, and the roof over the second-floor living quarters will be re-enforced.

While the generosity of the people who attended was more than we could have hoped for, we still have a great need for additional financial support to get us across the goal line. If you have been inspired by these video updates, please consider becoming a part of this amazing project at our Donations page. No donation is too small, and all gifts are tax-deductible.

The plumbing under the concrete sub-floor is in place, and most of the interior wall studs are in place on the first floor. Here is a virtual tour. Next up, we will begin the electrical wiring and heating/AC vents.

Our community in action – demolition to make room for our new home. This is a video of the many hands that began coming together in July 2016. A new in-town meditation center is coming to the heart of Atlanta! The arising of a modern, unique Buddhist Meditation Center in the heart of Atlanta is the result of the collective efforts of thousands of people over many years.
