What is an Empowerment?
An empowerment is a special guided meditation that incorporates a traditional Buddhist ceremony which gives the opportunity for individuals to make a special connection with a particular enlightened being.
White Tara is a female enlightened being whose function is to bestow long life, wisdom and good fortune. If we rely upon her with faith, she will protect us from contagious diseases, the dangers of fire, and other disasters. It is said that living beings receive Tara’s blessings as swiftly as the wind moves. By drawing close to White Tara, we will discover that all the pure happiness there is in the world comes from wishing others to be happy. By thinking like this, we can solve our problems, experience a peaceful, happy mind all the time, and become a source of inspiration for everyone we meet.
Through receiving this empowerment and engaging in the practice of White Tara, our own good qualities will be awakened so that we will become like her. During this event we will make a strong connection with her, which will increase our good fortune, life span and wisdom.
Gen Kelsang Jampa will also give commentary to Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s Long Life Prayer.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][/cs_content]
